I want to make a video- Where do I start?

Below are some points that will help you center the focus of your video! If you are totally lost- don’t worry! Reach out to us and we are happy to walk you through it.

Who:  Who are you trying to reach with this video? What audience do you want to capture?

What: What is the message you want the video to get across? Is it a 2 minute testimonial for the consideration/decision stage, or a sharp 30 second promotional video to boost awareness?

When:  When do you want to deploy this video?  Is it critical to an upcoming project you’re launching, or do you need it to train 100 new hires?

Where:  Where do you want this video to be seen? A video for Instagram isn’t going to look the same as a video for Facebook or Youtube.

Why:  Why are you creating this video? What do you hope to accomplish with it?

How: How is the person supposed to interact with the video? What would you like them to do 10 seconds after they watch it? Are there any other graphics, logos, or messages you need help building into the video?

Our team consists of professionals with backgrounds in film production, photography, and other related fields. Our producers have gone to respectable schools in the video production field such as Emerson College, Syracuse University, Boston University, ect. We love staying up to date with industry best practices and are always working on our skills!

What education and/or training do we have?

We’ve worked with all kinds of customers, from innovative local brands trying to get their name out there, to national companies looking for a reliable video production partner. While we specialize in corporate storytelling for mid-sized businesses, we also have successful relationships with Marketing and PR Agencies, helping to create integrated cross-platform content. Some of our recent clients include Timberland, Liberty Utilities, Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty, and more!

What types of customers have you worked with?

We price our services based on the number of videographers, equipment, travel, and the time we spend on each project based on our initial conversations - and can often give a pricing ballpark within 24 hours for corporate projects. We charge 50% of the project cost upfront for typical projects with new clients - for long horizon or larger projects we charge incrementally at 25% per project checkpoint. When we’ve completed the final revision we’ll send you a review link to approve and once the remaining project balance is paid we provide you with a downloadable link to use the video on your own accounts.

What are our payment policies?

We recently partnered with Concord Coach Lines/Boston Express to produce a comprehensive television and social campaign that included a visually compelling television commercial, a series of social media videos, and brand photography. With multiple days on location (including filming in a segment of Boston Logan Airport’s Delta Terminal), we captured the essence of the brand’s reliability and community connection. The result was a series of high-quality visuals that brought Concord Coach’s story to life across platforms. We are proud to have continued our partnership with Concord Coach over five years producing numerous hiring, safety, and commercial videos for them.

What’s an example of a recent project?

Absolutely! We have worked with all kinds of clients. Whether you have no idea where to start, or you have the whole video planned out, we can provide any level of help or support you may need.

Will you help us develop content for our video?

No problem! Provide us with a hard drive and we will come in to film for our normal day rate, then deliver you the footage.

I need video footage without editing?

One of our talented editors can help with any project scale if it fits within our bandwith and project criteria. We bill post production at $1000/day and have a one day minimum for any editing only projects.

I have video footage that needs editing?

The majority of the music we use on our videos is from Artlist.io. We also partner with local musicians. If you’re looking for a unique piece of music for your video, let us know.

Where do you generally license your music?

We try to turn everything around within an average of two business weeks. However, depending on the size and complexity of your project the timeline will reflect accordingly. During our initial meeting we’ll be able to give you an accurate estimation of how long the project should take.

What should I expect in terms of turnaround time?

The Windwood team is full versed in the Adobe Suite, Pro Tools, and Resolve for video, sound, and color editing.
